About
APO
Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach, Inc. is a Christian,
non-profit organization founded in 1997 with a three-fold mission:
To
provide support services to women in unplanned pregnancies
To promote
Christian parenting
To
promote adoption as a loving alternative.
Our
motivation is to encourage women to choose life for their babies and to
help women make sound parenting decisions. The
object in mind is the children – it is our heart’s desire to see children
raised in loving, nurturing
homes that honor Christ and that point children to our Savior.
The
support services of APO have been in existence since 1997.
We feel that if we are going to encourage a woman to choose life
for her baby that we should also provide any means necessary to help her
through her difficult times. Support services for birthparents are
the heart of APO.
Adoption services were added in 2002 because
some birthparents feel that placing their child in an adoptive home is the
best parenting decision they can make. Our adoption program exists because of our pregnancy
support program. We see our adoptive families as a resource
for our birthfamilies - not the other way around.
We are convinced that this is the most ethical model in which to
offer our services.
Being a Christian organization, we feel that
families who have a love for Jesus Christ and who base their lives on
the principals laid forth in the Bible have a strong foundation for providing
a stable home environment and parenting approach for children.
We recognize
that not every family that seeks an adoptive child will agree with the
philosophies and policies of this agency.
To assist you in making good decisions regarding adoption, we have
provided you a detailed information packet.
Good decision-making requires good information gathering. The agency’s
first concern is to give you as much information about adoption and Aggieland
Pregnancy Outreach, Inc. as early and as inexpensively as possible.
We
understand that when a couple seeks to grow their family through adoption,
sometimes all they can see is the end result – having a baby in their
arms. Adoption is not a one-time event. The means to the end is very
important too.
We hope that you will evaluate your own values and desires and that you
will choose an adoption agency that lines up
most closely with your evaluation. The
avenues you choose to walk at the beginning of this adoption journey can
have a very long lasting impact on the way your family deals with adoption
issues in the future.
We look forward to getting to know you and we wish you the best on your
journey.
